of trips abroad

so…..i have returned from my trip to italy and greece, and what can I say?  i should do those more often. truthfully, i don’t think that any experience compares to that of traveling and learning while you travel. you become amazed of the amount of information you  learn and actually REMEMBER in the span of a week. also, cutting all the lines at the major lineups helps. my trip is way too long to describe in detail, but basically we went from Rome (seeing the Colosseum, ancient forum, pantheon, Vatican and the Sistine chapel, and the POPE) to Capri, Sorrento and Pompeii where we got rained on, taking a ferry to Delphi in Greece, and then ending with an awesome day in Athens (where we saw the acropolis, parthenon, great shopping) . The experience was absolutely unforgettable and every time I come back from europe (it’s only been like twice), i feel stronger and stronger that our city is the most boring and architecturally poor place EVER! The depression that comes along with returning to an ugly city is quite dreadful, and I can only say that I wish to be AWAY right now. The moral..whatever opportunity you may get to travel, TAKE IT, and make much use of it. However, only if you appreciate the value of  what you’re doing will you get anything out of it.

I spent summers in Moscow, one of the most architecturally awesome cities ever, but the feeling of coming back home is unparalleled. You’ll learn to appreciate it after university, I’m sure.

Dear E, next time please attach a Canadian flag to your backpack, I’m sure your experience as a tourist will improve greatly.

    Sincerely, Happy

I think I’ll become an architect just so I can pimp out this city with a couple of these babies:
